Blending

Your BCAA formula is blended to ensure even distribution of ingredients in each supplement.

2

Bottle/Bag Filling

Once all ingredients in your formula are blended, they are filled into your bottle or bag of choice. We offer some amazing packaging options to fill your supplement with.

3

Polishing & Inspection

Each bottle is polished for a clean, finished look and triple-inspected for any defects.

4

Testing

After the supplement is manufactured, post-inspection we run identity, potency, microbial, and heavy-metal tests to ensure pharmaceutical-grade quality.

What is BCAA?

BCAA is a chemical compound commonly used in supplements. BCAA stands for Branched-Chain Amino Acid, and it is a very important requirement for the body to produce energy. This energy can easily be found in several natural meat products. However, the primary use of BCAA is in gyms, where bodybuilders use it to meet their dietary requirements for a rapidly growing body. This is because they burn energy at a much higher rate than a normal human being and therefore require more energy, which this amino acid provides.

Sources of BCAA

BCAAs are amino acids which almost always come from animals. The main ingredient in BCAA supplements is the BCAA itself, which is an amino acid. Naturally, the manufacturers turn to other creatures that have this amino acid in them, and several different animals make the list. These include specific parts of them like fur, swine, feathers, and hair. The process seems a bit too much to take, and vegetarians do not like this version at all.

To meet the growing demand for a vegetarian supplement, the process also involves using plant-based BCAA, which is most commonly present in corn. Some allergy-related issues occurred in the beginning, but now special plants that are specifically free from allergy-causing elements are being grown. The result is a BCAA source that you can rely on to be 100% plant-based.

The Multiple Types of BCAA

BCAAs can be broken down into two categories: proteinogenic and non-proteinogenic. Each is a subclass that holds specific chains of amino acids. The difference between the two types is that one is a protein amino acid and one is not.

Proteinogenic BCAAs include leucine, isoleucine, and valine. The non-proteinogenic amino acids include 2-aminoisobutyric acid.

What is Leucine?

Leucine is a proteinogenic BCAA. Leucine is an essential amino acid that is used in the natural production of protein in our bodies. Being an essential amino acid means it is not produced naturally in the body, so we must ingest it from our diet. Some sources of leucine include:

Additionally, leucine is also a ketogenic amino acid, and often regarded as the most important one at that. Most of the leucine will be metabolized in the liver and muscle tissue. This is a very important BCAA that is commonly used in supplements for various reasons.

What is Isoleucine?

Isoleucine is a proteinogenic BCAA. Similarly to leucine, isoleucine is an essential amino acid that must be a part of your diet. Isoleucine can be synthesized from a process that involves invoking the biosynthesis of multiple other amino acids, and it starts with pyruvate and alpha-ketobutyrate.

Additionally, isoleucine can be man-made in a lab. This process includes both 2-bromobutane and diethylmalonate.

What is Valine?

Valine is a hydrophobic proteinogenic BCAA. Valine is quite similar to leucine. It is an essential amino acid that must be ingested through our diet, and it has the same sources, which include:

Although, valine has some distinct, different potential uses. To note, valine is hydrophobic. This means it does not like to adhere to or come in contact with any sort of liquid. This has some effects on the molecular level in the body that verify how valine may be quite important.

What is 2-Aminoisobutyric Acid?

2-Aminoisobutyric acid is a rare non-proteinogenic BCAA. This BCAA is very rare; it is only found in some antibiotics of fungal origin and some lantibiotics. This is most commonly synthesized in a lab. The general process involves taking acetone cyanohydrin and introducing it to ammonia, followed by hydrolysis.

This type of BCAA is not often used, but it does have its own set of characteristics that would lead you to believe this is the best BCAA for your product.
