What Are Liposomal Supplements?
Liposomal supplements are different than typical supplements. What makes them special is that they are made in a way that stores the compounds of the active ingredients in very small, fat-like particles known as phospholipids.

Creating Liposomes
To create these liposomes, a process that includes heavy physical interaction is needed. First, the raw lipids are dissolved in ethanol, then they need some form of heavy pressure to form a particle. This can be done by a heavy-duty water nozzle that pushes out more than 1,700 pounds per square inch.
Purifying Liposomal Solution
The batch of liposomes is now made, but they are not pure of all unwanted compounds, so they must be cleansed before they can be used in a supplement. Some of the potential unwanted compounds in them can include ethanol, salts, and any of the other chemicals added when creating the liposome.
To flush out these unwanted traits, a selective filtration system is used that shrinks the particle sizes and dissolved compounds. A system called tangential flow filtration (TFF) is generally used.

The stabilization step for the liposomes involves the dilution of the solution. This is done with WFI, which stands for "water for injection." This is followed by a process of bioburden filtration.

Leading up to this step, the liposomes have been created and are ready to be used for supplements. The structure of the particle is an empty core that is surrounded by a protective shielding of small, circular cells.
API loading is the process of injecting the active ingredients directly into the empty core. This is the most complex part, but it is the most crucial.
Product Stabilization
Stabilizing the ingredient-filled liposome is crucial, as it can be imperative to the efficacy of the product.
With the liposomes filled with the correct active ingredient, they must be stabilized again to ensure they are made correctly. This can be done by undergoing another TFF process to rid the final particle of any non-liposomal material.
